Noah Bendix-Balgley

Noah Bendix-Balgley is the 1st concertmaster of the Berliner Philharmoniker since 2014. Previously he was concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. A frequent soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic, he also appears worldwide with renowned orchestras such as the Dresden, Auckland, Nagoya and Radio France philharmonics and the Shanghai, Utah, Baltimore, and Quebec symphonies. As a chamber musician, he is a member of the Rosamunde String Quartet and the multi-genre septet Philharmonix, which features members of both the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras and records for Deutsche Grammophon. He performs at festivals such as the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, the Bergen International Festival, the Zermatt Festival and the Le Pont Festival in Japan. Also a renowned performer of traditional klezmer music, he composed his own violin concerto ‘Fidl-Fantazye’ which he premiered with the Pittsburgh Symphony.
